Dear Sisters in Christ,
To go along with my podcast studies in Genesis regarding creation, I thought that I would create this 7-Day Devotional on biblical cosmology. Each day includes scripture, a short devotional, prayer and journaling prompts. I have also included a peaceful Guided Christian Meditation on this topic that is now for paid subscribers only. If you are not a paid subscriber, you can enjoy the first 3 days of devotionals below for free. CLICK HERE also for my full playlist of Genesis Bible Studies on Youtube.
Day 1 – The Earth: His Footstool and Your Foundation
Psalm 104:5 – "Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever." Romans 1:19–20 – "For the invisible things of him… are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made…"
Reflection: You do not live on a spinning accident, dear sister. You dwell on a firm, ordered earth, established and sustained by the Word of God. He laid its foundations with wisdom and covered it with beauty. This ground beneath you is not trivial—it is sacred space carved by divine intention. Though your calling is not of this world, your feet still walk upon His testimony. You are held by structure, not by chaos.
Prayer: Father, let my heart be as grounded as the earth You made. Quiet the noise of false wisdom, and lead me to trust what You’ve plainly spoken. Thank You for this gift of steadiness when all around me shifts.
Journaling Prompt: In what areas of your life have you allowed the "science of this world" to shake your confidence in Scripture? What does it mean to believe God’s Word literally as your ultimate foundation?
☁️ Day 2 – The Firmament: His Canopy of Glory
Genesis 1:6–8 – "And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under… from the waters which were above…" Ephesians 2:6 – "And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus."
Reflection: There is a ceiling to this realm—a shining firmament, arched in witness above your head. It is not fiction, but fortress. A tangible, multi-layered separation between heavenly waters, the heaven on heavens and this enclosed earth. Though your blessings are above it, your soul still marvels beneath it. The sky stretches as a mirror of His majesty, calling you to lift your gaze higher.
Prayer: Lord of the heavens, let the firmament remind me: You are enthroned above all. Yet You invite me upward, to abide in Christ beyond this vault. Let praise rise from beneath the dome, until it reaches where You dwell.
Journaling Prompt: Close your eyes and recall a sky that stayed with you—was it golden with sunset, storm-gray, or star-washed? Let that sky be a conversation. What did it tell you about God's nearness, His majesty, or your smallness held in glory?
🌈 Day 3 – A Rainbow After the Rain
Scripture: "I do set my bow in the cloud… for a token of a covenant between me and the earth." – Genesis 9:13 Additional Insight: Romans 16:25, Ephesians 3:9
Devotion: He still hangs His bow in the cloud, even when the world forgets. This bow still proclaims: our God is faithful. When storms settle, there it shines—a prism of mercy. And even more stunning than colors bending through light is the truth that we walk in a mystery once hidden and now revealed.
You are not just rescued from wrath—you are called into grace.
Prayer Whisper: Father, may I never become so accustomed to grace that I forget what it saves me from. Thank You for the symbols that speak even now—of Your promises, Your mercy, and Your unshakeable faithfulness.
Journaling Prompt: Think of a “rainbow moment” in your life story—a place where mercy followed sorrow, or clarity followed confusion. Write about it in your journal.
